Oh Sally, I loved this. "In these times" indeed. Thinking about this time through the lens of Mama Earth always helps me. She is doing her best to adapt and stands with us even as she speaks using catastrophes like flood and fire to open our eyes. This is her way to rebalance. She will prevail in the end which is my ultimate salve. And I truly believe that when we grieve and move toward regenerative practices, she celebrates.

Yesterday doing an early morning walk around Bega so two trees in full spring bloom, the rest of the walk was my mind wandering into the complexities of trees feeling confused….how do they regulate how can we help them regulate. Finally the ocean is cold, a strange relief something feeling normal, the only thing to thing about my arms moving, navigating the swell as we whoosh through the rocks. Time to take the joy of the planet and then time to try and help restore. Your writing as always hits a sweet spot xo

I’ve been thinking about matriarchies recently and how regenerative living that you are describing is about rebuilding matriarchal relationships, conversations and connections. Obviously not just with women but resurfacing the strength of family as well as community when rebuilding a living culture
We had only our second proper frost yesterday, deeply weird. In the immediate, I am focusing on the benefits for our elderly paddock maremma who is 16 this year and hates the cold in her old age. It is giving her a more comfortable time of it. I also caught that John Seed interview, wasn’t it terrific! It shifted the ground for me in a big way, which I shall write about when I get a chance :)

That’s a great way of putting it. As a phrase it sounds stronger, a bit less domestic and co servatively concerned with ‘motherhood’.
