Great initiative between you and Julia, Sally. Thank you! I unfortunately can't tune in at that time but if there's an opportunity to record it I would most definitely listen in later.
Hi Alia sorry to hear you can’t make it, would love to meet you sometime. We won’t be recording as it’s a sharing circle not a workshop, but if it goes well we may do again!
You might think this is all pretty basic, but it's fundamental to human being for us to pay attention to our surroundings and work with those surroundings and ecologies to preserve them and hopefully improve them.
People don't seem to generally think about that, but they do it :)
We probably can't support ourselves by community gardening, but it made a huge difference in WWII in the UK, and that was under constant attack, so its not trivial.
By healing nature and working with it we, as you are pointing out, heal ourselves and heal at least some part of our community.
Thank you Jon! It’s so true urban farms, victory gardens have been crucial in hard times. And yes growing our win food and caring for teh nest we live in are basic components of human life and humanity!
Sally, you took me back to my childhood days of zucchinis growing abundantly in our backyard and Jack and the Beanstalk would come to mind. There’s a community garden in my neighbourhood and I have always wanted to join; your post has prompted me to do so. I look forward to attending your gathering Zoom session with Julia; I have already sent a email to you. Best wishes
Oh that’s so great you have joined your community garden, best outcome I could hope for ! can’t see your email but will DM you the Zoom link, looking forward to meeting you Weds !
