Yes such an amazing conversation opening up a very lively , tender and respectful way of seeing and being in the world. So much we can learn from this. Thank you Javier for sharing this in both Spanish and English versions 💚
as the animistic worldview makes its way into english language, more nouns will become verbs.
kinning to me is conversing, a recognition of sentience and presence which also reminds me of a quote from E. Chiluailaf:
"the binding ritual of all this is the conversation (nvtramkan) which is essential when you want to know something. knowing is, they say, the only possibility of loving what has been presented to us and, therefore, of reaching tenderness [ternura] for ourselves"
Thank you so much Javier for this beautiful comment and quote , I love your connecting of kinning with conversing, and then deepening through knowing to tenderness. Something for sitting with and practicing. Do you know where the quote comes from? I would like to read more
Thanks Kate , I agree it is a word full of magic and its own music. The conversation about this which I link to in the post is a beautiful and rich read.

'Kinning' -- a new word for me, and its sounds beautiful, perhaps I can even hear it working its magic. Lots to ponder in this essay, thanks Sally

Here's to countercultural tenderness and to kinning. As Zen teacher Robert Aitken Roshi was fond of saying, we're all in it together. xxx
